Pat,
In your quest to compare and contrast the differences and features
between Metastock and Amibroker you will need to understand the
difference in trading versus investing. Part of this will be
understanding how technical analysis plays into these two arenas.
You will also need to understand the history between Metastock and
Amibroker. For this I would suggest visiting the messages of this
site numbered 19118 through 19121 and 20759 through 20794. My
opinion is that Amibroker has the capability to be programmed in a
number of different languages. Metastock is pretty straight forward.
I don't need to be a programmer in order to use it. This leaves me
more time to devote to technical analysis which is far more
complex.
If you are simply looking for a comparison of the two programs then
visit www.elitetrader.com or www.traders.com , which is the home
page for Technical Analysis of STOCKS & COMMODITIES Magazine . The
magazine does an annual review of software and will be your best bet
for an analysis of the program differences.
Hope this helps,
Preston
