Hi Pat -

Just out of curiosity, how does a "newbie" get the assignment of
comparing/contrasting 2 relatively sophisticated trading programs?

In any case here are some categories:
1. Cost
2. Data sources
3. Number of built in indicators
4. How are new indicators created.
5. Speed.
6. Can it do explorations
7. Is there some form of system tester.
8. How is data displayed.
9. What controls does one have over what's displayed.
10. How are searches done?

11. Is there a user group whose members are sufficiently generous
with their time to answer the badly formed naieve questions of
newbies.

1-10 you can get from the manual, and from promotional materials of
the publishers.
11 may have already been answered.

You may want to present your question to the Amibroker group.

Regards,
Ron
