I use the DDF occasionally. I look at it before buying sometimes. I
usually don't buy until about two hours after the market opens, so the
DDF gives me a bit of edge of knowing when during the day to buy. I
look at it occasionally as it applies to the overall market also. I
think it's relatively accurate. I believe Clayburg uses the figure of
about 75% of the time.
On a lot of days, reading the DDF on a chart gives a neutral reading.
Only a small percentage of the days give a clear indication as
Clayburg describes.
It's easy to plot manually. Eyeball estimation for the horizontal line
is good enough. Precision in the DDF is not necessary. Plotting the
three vertical lines at the open, 5 minutes in and 60 minutes in is a
no brainer.
If you want to automate it so you can apply it to multiple charts when
they open by creating coded templates, go to Roy's forum if you are a
member, and I will post the code after you ask the question again.
