RE: [EquisMetaStock Group] How to plot an arc

Three points define a circle. If you want to call a circle a special case/
degenerate case of a parabola feel free do so. You need 4 points to define a
parabola. If the 4 points do lie on a circle the results of the calculation
will show this.

The H or L or C or O for a longer sequence of bars rarely form a nice smooth
curve, they usually form a jagged line. This is because there is a certain
amount of random noise in the data, also known as signal noise. If you draw
the arc of a circle through 3 points, the fourth point will not necessarily
coincide with the arc. Try it and let me know the results for several
different tickers.

Metastock has a built in linear regression function. If you want a
nonlinear regression curve you may be able to calculate it, and plot it, in
excel.

Lionel,

Yes thats true that two points define a line & three points define a
parabola. I am using these parabolas on graph papers manually but cannot
write a code in MS. The three required points will be derived either from
High/Low/Close or open, I can't understand what's "noise" in it. Can you
please explain it?
Thanks

Two points define a straight line, three points define a circle or arc of a
circle, and so on.

There is too much noise to simply use H, L, C or O to define much.

Dear All,

I want to draw an arc between two low's/high's or closes on specified
date. Can anybody help me by providing a code for it. Thanks in
advance.
