You could also download a software called maxmem, which manages the memory while sitting silently in the tray.

Its hard to tell anything from your   description of your system. What 
I can tell you is that I use a very good   video card and a lot of 
dram. My performance is better when I close all   other unneccessary 
programs. I use an AMD but have heard that the old   Celerons were 
better at data processing which is what Metastock needs...it   is 
indeed a proccessor pig.
