AA, your perception of value is distorted by the lack of value you place
on our most valuable commodity: time.
The trading tools that I (MetaStockTools.com) offer are specialized
trading tools for traders. They are aimed at professional traders who
appreciate and are willing to pay for valuable time-saving add-ons - these
tools are not generally targeted at the consumer market. I don't aim at
broad market penetration or large sales turnover, and that is one reason
why I have kindly refused offers from Equis to market any of my add-ons.
As for price comparisons between these two add-ons and MetaStock, they may
not be as valid a comparison as first thought. This is explained quite
well by a URSC kit client:
---------------------------------------------------
When it comes to pricing, basically there are two types.
There's *intrinsic* price and *utility* pricing.
Utility pricing is easy - it covers common items such as nails, brick
laying, carpet cleaning or accounting for example. One can figure out how
much brick laying is basically worth, so that's what the market will
tolerate.
Intrinsic pricing on the other hand, is pricing that's based on factors
that have little bearing on the service. For example, if an oil well is
on fire and it's burning $1,000,000 a day in oil, it needs to be put out.
If left to burn itself out, it will take 30 days.
MetaStockTools.com the oil-fire fighter team comes along and say they can
put it out in three days, which will save the Oil Co $27M, and they're
only charging $3,000,000 for the three days. Each guy in the fire crew
might only be worth one bricklayer in salary, but together they can charge
$3m because the alternative is much, much more expensive.
The way I look at software for trading is nearly on the same basis.
Utility software is MetaStock. It's not going to make the trader money by
itself, and there are many other options, so there is a limit the market
is going to pay for the utility of MS.
On the other hand if there was a plug-in for MS that would help a
professional trader to trade the markets and make 25% a year, that would
be worth far more than the value of MS.
---------------------------------------------------
The intrinsic value of MetaStockTools.com's software is something that
close to 300 existing clients understand quite well.
Then there something called "service".
When was the last time anyone saw a software company such as Equis or
Microsoft offer all updates and upgrades for free? I've been offering all
kit updates/upgrades freely for over six years now, and hope to continue
this practice well into the future.
For example, I could have easily charged for the upcoming URSC kit v4.0
*major* update, but I'm happy to please existing clients and help the
private URSCkit community develop trading strategies well beyond the value
of the original cost.
As for bringing my kits on par with other add-ons - please... there can be
no comparison. I have over 12 kits in different stages of production, yet
I refuse to release any of them unless I feel they can offer a genuine
trading contribution. You won't see me selling trading systems or add-ons
based on some basic indicator. ;)
AA, I look forward to the day you cross over into the MetaStockTools.com
client sphere, and come to understand the true meaning of value. In the
meantime, please enjoy the numerous unique free formula available at http:/
