Hi Squeak
Until you delete old smart charts MS will continue to use them. The trick is to delete all smart charts or the MSSMART folder complete with all smart charts so that MS can create a new chart from the new template. Don't delete any data files, just the contents of or MSSMART folder(s).

Hi,everyone. I have been using metastock 8.01 for a few years now and
have come across a problem which I do not seem able to solve.
My problem is as follows;
I daily download 3000 securities from the LSE, and these are contained
in 26 Alphabetical folders. I then view them all using Smart
Charts,with a template which I occasionally improve. I then face the
task of applying the new template to all the 3000 securities. While
all the securities in any one folder can be viewed using the new
template,they do not get automatically saved, so as soon as I come out
of the folder which I am currently using, all the securities revert to
the old template.
Is there any way I can do a multiple save, to save all the securities
in one folder when they are all in the format of the new Smart Chart
template.?.
