[EquisMetaStock Group] Dual System

Hi,
Could someone give me an idea how to pogram a  dual  system in metastock.
The requirements as follows:
1. What is the best indicator (s) to detect whether a certain stock in
trending or sideways (ranging) ?
2. How to use it as a kind of "switch" to activate the corresponding
program ? (i.e. if the indicator say it is now in trending mode , then
activate trend follower program ELSE acitvate Swing Trading program )
3. Please advice also what is the best trend follower program and also
the best of Swing Trading progarm ?

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.
