[EquisMetaStock Group] analysis vs. quantitative analysis

I think I found my answer to the quant question and it came from a very
unlikely source. I was a business meeting and the speaker mentions he has
done customer analysis and quantative analysis. I ask him what quant means
and his reply summed up like this...
In one you are looking at all available data (focus groups). In quant
analysis you are asking leading questions. ( you came to my store, was it
clean?)

So for me a quant is might be like this....I run a scan that looks for
stocks over $1.00 and but eliminates low volume stocks. Now I scan for
stocks under 200dma in the last 30 days. I follow this with a scan for BP
(buying pressure.) Then I go and look at a more open analysis for looking
for a reason not to buy the stock.

One surprise should you run this is how many stocks gapped up large. I would
have to compare to say over 200dma stocks but it did jump out.
