Tradesim is a great piece of software. It is easy to use, but be
prepared to spend hours using it every day, because once you start
simulating your systems using Tradesim it points up so many flaws
that you will need to revise, revise, revise… Its better than any
teacher I know. I use the Enterprise version but the standard
version is more than suitable for most applications.
Most traders don't consider the size of their bank, commissions,
slippage, portfolio heat, the volume of stock available to be traded
on a particular day, position sizing pyramiding and risk. With
Tradesim you get the home truths before you trade. It works with
daily, weekly or monthly data, long, short and handles multiple
systems with different entry and exit strategies. It has saved me a
fortune in losses, and helped make me a very successful trader. My
advice is use the software before you place any more trades.
