I haven't seen that problem with Metastock before but I have
encountered the "red X" many years ago in a large word document I
was working on. It (word document) containedad alot of
graphics/jpegs causing RAM and video card issues.
I think I had to reduce the file or spilt the file in two.
Sounds like you a fairly new machine so RAM and video may not be the
issue?? worth a check possibly
