Hi Cav

I didn't mean to suggest that you use the "Merge" function to merge the two halves of data back together again. There's more than one way to skin a cat. I'd be creating a text file (or 6) of the shortest segment of data (Convert tool, MetaStock to text file), then loading that back into  the longer segment (Convert tool, text file to MetaStock) . 3000 securities makes for a rather large text file so you might want to do it 500 securities at a time. 6 passes sounds a bit easier than 3000. I don't see a problem though, just a little time.

Kind regards

Oh dear!  At first sight this seemed like the way do do it ...
but ... when merging the two data sets the Downloader requires each
and every security to be merged individually.  It still ends up
being a manual opeation across 3500 - 4000 securities (:-  In which
case deleting straight from the Downloaders data sheet is more
straight forward.

Or is there an option in the downloader I'm missing??  If not, then
is there a third-party add-on that could handle this kind of
excercise?  Some sort of hack???  Anything ..... apart from having
to do the damn thing more than 3000 times?

In desperation!
