You could try mimansoor's free
utility for ms2asc and asc2ms.
The steps which come to my mind
first is to make three data sets. One for deleting the previous
date and another deleting the forward date, from your "rouge" date reference
point.
Then export all the MS data into
ascii from both the data sets, using ms2asc utility.
Convert both the ascii data data
sets using the asc2ms utility. Voila, you would have the entire dataset with the
rogue data purged.
What would the third data
set be for? A backup in case something goes wrong.
I have used this earlier, and found
it to be pretty good and fast. Apart from that, I have no
affiliation.

Fix suggestions please?
Oh dear! At first sight this seemed like the way do
do it ... but ... when merging the two data sets the Downloader requires
each and every security to be merged individually. It still ends up
being a manual opeation across 3500 - 4000 securities (:- In which
case deleting straight from the Downloaders data sheet is more
straight forward.
Or is there an option in the downloader I'm
missing?? If not, then is there a third-party add-on that could
handle this kind of excercise? Some sort of hack??? Anything
..... apart from having to do the damn thing more than 3000
times?
In desperation!
