You may please check whether you save the data file in .csv format.
(Do not use .xls format). Using .csv format and not .xls and
selecting the ASCII text format for the souce file in downloader
solves many of the problems.
To summarise the whole procedure:
1) Keep the headers/data format in the daily data file as
<TICKER>,<DATE>,<OPEN>,<HIGH>,<LOW>,<CLOSE>,<VOLUME>.
- Keep the date format as mm/dd/yy
- Keep the volume figures as numerical without any
formatting for (,)
2) Delete all other coumns in the data file and save
it in the .csv format
3) Use ASCII text format in downloader under the
Tools -> Convert -> (Source - File type) ASCII Text
and
(Destination File Type) MetaStock
