I have MS 8.01, and am having a frustrating problem.
I want to plot two seperate data series on one chart, one in each of
two inner windows. They each have different start dates for the data.
Example: say I have the S&P 500 index with data starting 1/3/1992. I
also have the DJ 30, with data starting 1/2/1977.
I go to File->Open, select the S&P 500, and plot it in a new window.
Then I add a blank inner window to the chart. I then select the DJ 30,
and set the start date to 1/3/1992 (the same as the S&P 500 data). I
plot this in a new window, which displays 1/3/1992 as the start date.
I then use Ctrl-C to copy the DJ 30 data, and use Ctrl-V to plot it in
the blank inner window with the S&P 500 chart.
But when I plot it, the starting date of the DJ 30 is not 1/3/1992,
but 1/2/1977! So the two plots have vastly different start dates on
the chart. I tried copying the DJ 30 data to Excel, and that data
starts on 1/3/1992, just as it was supposed to.
So why does the DJ 30 data copied to the S&P 500 chart start 1/2/1977?
Any help would be appreciated, because I am very puzzled.
