You'll probably find that one set of data is adjusted for
cash dividends and the other is not.
I believe HQuote is a Yahoo downloader and Yahoo do adjust
for cash dividends (which in my opinion is incorrect).
Our data service, Premium Data, does not adjust for cash
dividends (but does for stock dividends and other capital related events -
splits, bonus issues, reverse splits/consolidations etc.)

Its getting from bad to worse.. I double checked
the first two DJ30 stocks, AA and AIG and they both show that past data from
HQuote.com is incorrect going into my Metastock files and does not match up
to the data from TC2005..
TC2005 HQuotePro (Metatsock) AA
12/28/2000
34.48 31.94 AA
3/15/01
35.77 33.13 AA
6/5/02
33.40 31.59 AA
1/15/04
35.47 34.81 AA
3/24/05
30.36 30.36
AIG
12/28/2000
99.06 97.79 AIG
3/15/01
78.75 77.78 AIG
6/5/02
65.07 64.44 AIG
1/15/04
69.55 69.26 AIG
3/24/05
55.61 55.61
This means my data
analysis has always been on faulty data coming from HQuotePro.. I am
not doing any data manipulating. Its a straight download to Metatsock
folders. I tried erasing data and re- saving. No luck. If this is
correct, as it seems to be, I believe HQuote data is faulty.
Can
someone else who uses HQuote for downloads do a few random checks on the
info that I have presented?
Thanks,
