I use data from Quotes Plus, but they go back only 10+ years.

You can buy data CD's from folks like Prophet, CSI, etc. That have
this data back 30 years or so; it varies depending on whether you want
stock data or index data. Some have it in Metastock format, and some
in ASCII, so you need to check that.

In the sample datafiles that came with your Metastock, the DJI is
there from 1897.
