I had a similar experience with this periodic checking. It's long long story, but I had a non working CD drive and Metastock couldn't deal with the concept of a networked CD drive. So, to cut a long story short, I used to reinstall Metastock over the existing version once a quarter. It seemed to work just fine.

I bought Metastock 7.2 over ebay some months ago, today when I loaded
up the program I get a message to instert the CD into the computer for
verification, I did and it couldn't verify, is there away around this
or am I just screwed?
