Hmmm....I'm not sure how "in depth" you want to go, but in the MetaStock Manual (page 277-287) they list many of the candlestick patterns and their syntax. It would seem, though this is incredibly simplistic, that you could just drop some of the MetaStock Candlestick syntax in an exploration column.
Like in colA, you put: bearharami() for a Bearish Harami. Run your explore.
Or, you could buy Nison's Candlesticks Unleashed plug-in:
I'm not into Candlesticks, but that might be a start. Check out the manual and mess around with the candlestick syntax.

What I means is..........once i perform metastock exploration, the result will return the type of candlestick patern formed from the chart. The exploration result might look like below.
