Martin,

~msfl.* is what to search for. There are 4 temporary files 
(~msfl.usr, ~msfl.sec, etc.) placed in each data folder in use by 
MetaStock and/or the Downloader.
If these files get locked open, somnetimes the program will give you 
a message and let you reset them, however sometimes they need to be 
deleted manually. This usually happens after a lock-up.
