In the past I have done backtesting with various stops as a % of the
price. Most all the time, I have found that unless you have a wide
stop like 10% or more, mechanical trading systems reap less profit
with a stop, as you get stopped out too often, versus letting the
signals stop you out with a market open trade next day.. I have not
backtested with trailing stops as a perecentage. People - would you
care to comment on your experience and use of stops in real trading
vs testing?
