 As I am
sure most of you know, different data providers use different symbols for the
same indexes.  Why?  Who knows, but I am putting together a MetaStock
plug-in that I am trying to make as universal as possible.  In other
words,  no matter what data provider the user employs, if he
wants to see data on the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the plug-in will
recognize the symbol and bring up data on the Dow and all related data the the
plug-in provides.

Below are the different symbols used for these
major indexes.  The first column is Reuters (EOD) and the second
eSignal (real time).

If anyone knows any different symbols used for
other MetaStock compatible data providers your help is greatly
appreciated:
  New York Stock Exchange
Composite    .NYA    $NYA American Exchange
Composite              .XAX
$XAX NASDAQ
Composite
.IXIC    $COMPQ Dow Jones Industrial
Average                  .DJI
$INDU S&P 500
Index                                      .SPX
$SPX NASDAQ 100
Index                               .NDX
$NDX Gold Bug's
Index                                   .HUI
$HUI 30 Year Treasury Yield
Index                  .TYX    $TYX

Thank you.

Best,
