Hello Preston,
Firstly I'm Sorry, I forgot to post to the group
regarding my new release of Metastock CommandLine Data
Conversion Utility version 1.3.3. This is a minor bug
fix release to the earlier version 1.3.2 release.
I have also posted my utilities on freshmeat.net

I wrote these utility programs, since I needed a
command line ascii to metastock data conversion
program. Which I searched a lot on the net but could
not find a free utility for the same.
Basically I needed some program which I could
embed in a script file which could download near real
time data from the web and instantly convert it to
metastock format and I could use it for my trading
purposes.
These utility programs are a result of my pursuit
for the above mentioned need. Now I have a decent
program which can convert a comma seperated ascii data
file into metastock binary data format. My ulitimate
goal for these programs is to nearly emulate all the
features offered in MetaStock downloader program in
command line mode.
At present I have two command line utility
programs, one called asc2ms which can convert a given
ascii comma seperated program into metastock
computrack binary data format and the other ms2asc
which can extract an ascii data file from given
Metastock binary data files.
For details please download the utilities and try
it out for yourself, and let me know if these utility
programs have any need at all, or is it a waste. Also
I would appreciate if you could suggest some things
which you would like to see incorporated in these
programs.
Also I would like to know from the group members
is there a way to automatically refresh the data files
in Metastock. I'm able to update the binary data files
while Metastock has opened it, but unable to make
Metastock referesh the data files automatically, I
have to manually do this everytime?
