[Metastockusers] Re: Stability issues

I used to run MS6.52 under MS XP Pro without any trouibles - a feat
that many said was not possible. I have since upgraded to MS9 and
have not had any problems myself. Others I know have had troubles,
but as it turns out much of the difficulty is not caused by the XP OS
but the other applications and services on the machine.

First thing I would do is to clean up your disks, memory and registry
using any of the multitude of tools available. Next I would work
through your services and shutdown all those not required for the
normal operation of your computer - visit sites such as
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp.htm for more information. Next, I
would make sure that any extraneous applications are not running when
I have my MS open - I have only email, VoIP, Office products and
browsers open whilst working with MS - some other applications that
are just "incompatable", test for yourself causes and effects.

With a leaner OS and better use of limited memory and disk resources
all of your programs should be more stable, and your machine should
work faster.

Hope this helps.
