The ?MASTER files are the binary "index" files containing information such as codes & security description etc. about each security.
 
The Fxxx.DAT and Fxxx.MWD files contain the price data.
 
The two sets of files are known as the MetaStock file format, which is a minor enhancement of the Computrac file format.
