Try this:
1. Reinstall V8 in its old location, then use windows settings to uninstall
it. Repeat for V 9. If this doesn't uninstall your programs, you may have to
use something like Norton's clean sweep to uninstall them.
2. Remove any artifacts in the folders for V 8 and V 9
3. Reinstall your program(s)
4. If this doesn't work, find a knowledgeable local person to help you out.
You may have to pay for his services.

I installed Metastock v 9 and found I couldn't collect data with it
from Metaserver rt so uninstalled that and reinstalled v 8 but now
its looking for EQCMUI90EN.DLL in my common files and I have v8
version(EQCMUI80EN.DLL) and it won't work.I've tried going into regi
and renaming any leftover EQUIS files before reinstalling older
version but that didn't work. Any help for this problem out there??
