Hi Jose,
Assuming that your data file resides in
ASC_FILE.asc, you just need to run the command,
C:\asc2ms -o mymasterdir
You could find converted MASTER, Fx.DAT file in
"mymasterdir" directory. As ASC_FILE.asc is the
default file, you need not have to specify the ascii
file name. Else here is another way you may want to
try.
Assuming your data file is "mydata.csv", also lets
assume you already have MASTER, Fx.DAT files, and you
want to replace same (date,time) records with data in
the ascii file then,
C:\asc2ms -f mydata.csv -o mymasterdir -r r -q
This command will do the conversion in quite mode,
with replacing record ("-r r" is for record
replacement policy).
The tool is intelligent enough to parse different
Formats dynamically without specifying it explicitly.
Just make sure that the ASCII file has just what the
tool can understand else it goof's up ;). Like do not
have blank lines, lines with comment or header lines
etc., rest the tool will take care, you could have
differently formatted data lines, all in the same
ascii file.
