Scott,
You would need to create a symbols file to create
new securities.
Store that symbols (file extn *.sym) file in your
Downloader subdirectory.
Run Downloader.
Create new file.
Make sure that you enter the start date as an old
date, from which you want to start your analysis.
Import all the symbols from the symbol file list
created earlier.
Select the Download option.
It will download the quotes.

I have a dumb question.I have Metastock but don't
use it as I have data from my broker that is virtually free that works well
with another charting platform so if I don't have any data to Metastock at all
and I download the smartdownloader, can I get EOD charts from yahoo?Could
someone walk me through it as I can't get it to work?Thanks a
million,

There is a software called smartdownloader
available from <A
href="">www.hypertrader.it
It should do the trick.
If you want to analyse the indices, <A
href="">www.candlestrength.com has the
provision to plot and analyse most market indices.
