Mike,

I've successfully moved MS from one machine to another using the following:
1. Install MS on your new machine.
2. On the new machine, rename C:\Program Files\Equis\MetaStock to MetaStock.old
3. Copy the C:\Program Files\Equis\MetaStock directory from your old machine to the new one (you can zip it if that helps).
4. Start MS and test your normal processes

Thus far, I've had no trouble doing this - and it gives you a backup of your MS system as a by-product.

When you're happy that everything is OK, simply delete the original MetaStock.old directory.

This process takes your entire MS environment, including your Favourites, explorations, etc etc.

HTH.

Cheers,
Don

Hello,

During completion of a PC transfer I'm interested if the MS favourites data can be imported/exported somehow. I have a lot of nested folders and charts in the favourites section. I located a file 'favourites.dta' in the Metastock folder which I copied but appears to not be the one...
(might save me a lengthy manual task if the favourites can be copied!)
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Many thanks,  Mike
