I use Sharescope as my endo EOD data source. I wanted to create folders for
each of the indices, FT 100, FT 250 etc etc. - I did not want 2000+
securities in one folder or in alphabetical folders. I exported tables for
each of the main indices in CSV format which I then edited in Excel. I then
copied the appropriate column from Excel into a new SYM file for each of the
indices. This works perfectly. Every now and then I check to see which
securites have been promoted or demoted and add or remove them as necessary.
Since Sharescope provides some very useful fundamental information I also
use this method to keep and update folders of securities that satisfy
fundamental criteria such as High Yield, Low PEG etc etc.
Hope this helps.
