<SPAN

<SPAN
class=439074900-08032004>The Relative Strength Comparative function in Metastock
is simply one security's price divided by another security's price. I find
if you run a moving average through the RSC then you can determine whether the
stock is outperforming or underperforming. The security can of course be
an index too.
<SPAN

<SPAN
class=439074900-08032004>To do this in an explorer you have two
methods:
<SPAN
class=439074900-08032004>1. In Metastock v8.01 you can use the
SECURITY function... ie C/SECURITY("C:\Trading
Data\Stocks\US\Indices\S&P\SIPGR-RETAIL")
<SPAN
class=439074900-08032004>2. In other versions of Metastock,
you can use the "P" indicator. ie Open up a chart, click on the price bars
(so you see the little blocks every 10 or so bars), the in your indicator use
"P" in your formula. ie C/P

<SPAN
class=439074900-08032004>With regards to sector constituents, Metastock in
itself doesn't easily support sector classifications. You could consider
using a data vendor that can generate folders that just contain specific sector
constituents. Our custom folder feature gives you this ability (and keeps
them up-to-date too).

equismetastock@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxSubject: [EquisMetaStock Group]
recommendationany recommendations for a program that can
readmetastock data and allow me to analyze data andproduce
reports. Similar to Metastock explorer, butwith more
capabilities.specifically, I am trying to compare sectors to
S&Pand than sectors to there individual component stocks. As well as
being able to compare exchange volume withstock volume to get a feel for
demand changes.Apparently, Metastock 8.0 EOD doesn't allow me
toaccess data from other securities, and will not allowme to incorporate
Relative Strength Comparison amongsecurites, in a custom
exploration.Thanks,Brian
