vector,   First let me say I resent the fact that you say I do not understand software and its evolution into the business world.  You know nothing about me but I can see that you act before you think.   My comment deals with the fact that Equis put out a product knowing that it was only giving you portion of the available  indicators. They even say so in there manual. They tell you what they gave you is not the best and if you want better you will need to pay more.  I realize they are in business to make their fortune and not give their program away, but they withhold some of the most critical indicators and expect you to pay almost $300. to get more.  I have no difficulty with your comment about working out an individual trading process. I agree each of us is different and needs to find what works best for the home team.  You know as well as I do that ATS misses by opportunities and the advisor is questionable.  It gives buy signals on down trends and sells on the beginnings of uptrends.   Not saying Equis has a bad product.  However, I expect to be able to give my opinion as stated in my original comments, without ridicule or bashing for not knowing what is going on in business. I have been working with programming trading software since way before Supercharts and Omega and Equis was even a company.   Marshall

IMHO there are two issues at play here.

First, The quote below is the response of someone who does not understand software and the evolution of it in the business world.  When developing a software product you very nearly *never* have the luxury of putting every single feature that could possibly arise into your product.  Equis built a somewhat flexible API with which 3rd party vendors and equis themselves can expand upon the original product after it's release.  This is the purpose of plugin's.  If a software company spent all it's time developing things everyone thought should be 'part of the product' then they would spend all their time attempting to develop the perfect software that does everything (including clean the house) and never ever release anything.  Not only that, these prlugins that even equis sells are generally not written or developed by equis.  Therefore, it is paramount that these 3rd parties have some way to implement software to work with Metastock.  The fact that Equis happens to market them or sell them is incidental.

Secondly, a great mentor of mine teaches that there is the science of trading and the psychology of trading.  In other words, a system that is profitable for person A will not be profitable for person B.  With any trading system it is going to take some time, experience, and discipline to make it profitable.  I have been trading ATS for several months now and I am quite happy with it.  I made a few mistakes (some profitable, some not so profitable and yes mistakes can be profitable) but I am now on the right track with my strategies and habbits.  This same mentor also tells me I need to keep a trading journal to track the state of my psyche and what I was thinking at each trade.  My opinion is that you must find the system that will work for you!  Ok, enough...this funky yellow back ground is burning into my eyes because everytime I look at my white keyboard I see yellow stripes across it.  l8r

Steve , I know I will catch flack for this, but; I have several and they are helping me very little.  We in this group have had heated discussions on the advantages or not of the various plugins.  They seem to be materials that a company selling the Metastock product would have put in the original program to begin with, instead of making you pay again and again.  They add to what you already have.  I am still trying to determine how "ICE" can help me. But, that is one mans' opinion, mine.   Marshall

Can anyone offer some feedback (positive or negative) on any of
the plugins offered by Equis? The write ups on them make them
sound easy to make profitable trades.... Any info or experiences
appreciated. Thanks, Steve
