This is a link to some GICS info, you might consider using them.
Reuters does carry them. This page has a link to Excel files
describing the different classifications and a link to all the S&P
500 stocks and their GICS sector. There's another link somewhere
(don't recall where at the moment) showing which Reuters GICS symbol
corresponds w/which classification. (You might try a search in Google
for "GICS Reuters symbols".)
Using all this info you can divide the S&P into groups corresponding
w/the GICS. It takes some work but it's free.
