[Metastockusers] Re: Question about the Parabolic SAR

Hello Jaguar,
the SAR seems pretty good at preserving capital when a trend reverses. I have kicked myself so many times by refusing to believe that the trend is over and hanging in... my only consolation being that I know I am one of many who share the affliction. To call the SAR as I use it a "System" would be guilding the lilly. It is more a kick in the pants to move me. Personally I like trend lines most. (If only I could get an indicator to draw them for me.)
As to the exploration... it still doesn't work quite right. If I use the code "Cross(C,SAR(.02,.2))" as a filter, there seems to be a delay. It shows crosses the day before yesterday, (which is as handy as tits on a bull). I tried "C>SAR(.02,.2) AND Ref(C,-1)<Ref((SAR(.02,.2)),-1)"... same result. I will have to do some more research."Mickie T. Pitts" <jaguarvp@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:

Do you trade to the Parabolic SAR, if so do you enter and exit on the SAR Value?

If so what time frame?

I have looked into it and know of a website on StockCharts.com that a guy displays his trades, but do not know if they are real.

I am looking for someone that can give me some advice on the SAR Trading system.

Thanks for the info.
