I have an alternate suggestion for you that I found useful when I
started with MS. I prefer to learn by looking at examples and testing
them, rather than a "cookbook" or "how to manual". An example of this
is the collection of formulas and explorations created by Greg
Morris. My CD of his collection is a few years old. While it will
import quite easily into MS 7.xx, the explorations do not import into
MS 8.xx at all. You could ask the resellers that are still selling
the Greg Morris collection if their current CD will import all
formulas and explorations into MS 8.xx. The resellers also sell
Metastock and other plug ins, but I have not used any of them. I am
not associated with them in any way other than purchasing the Greg
Morris CD a few years ago. The CD contains many formulas and
explorations, as well as formulas created from articles in Technical
Analysis of Stocks & Commodities magazine. Here is the web site:

If anyone has purchased and used an update to date version that works
perfectly with MS 8.xx, or someone else's collection of formulas and
explorations, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Yes, I am aware that
there are several websites with free formulas listed. This CD was
nice in that all formulas and explorations were TESTED and WORKED on
the pre-MS 8.xx version.
