Just got metastock 8.0 from a friend to try it out. However after
tried it out for a whole day, i realize their system tester really
is a pain.
Even the simplest the cross MA system can't give a consistant
results from simulation to simulation. And when i try to specify the
margin for short position to 101%, the system give me wild trades
with 130000 shares of msft with a capital of $50000. Missed trades,
and weird entry and exit signals.
Even for a newbie like me, this softwares is nowhere near stable,
which can hardly give me any meanfully results. Then after i found
here, i realize this is not my own problem at all.
I need some advices on mechnical trading, what kind of software you
expert all using for stock screening and trading signal generation?
Do you all using these softwares to trade directly without
supervision? or you just use them to generate signal and trade
manually.
