Hi
A big advantage of Mldownloader over some of the
competition is that it is easy to download a big
database having (say) 10 years data for several
hundred stocks. This makes it easy to get started.
A drawback of all these programs outside the US is
that the only source of data is Yahoo, and they do not
always keep their non-US historic data up to date.
The UK data recently fell 10 days behind, and it is
often almost a day after the markets close before data
becomes available. This is completely useless. I
have reverted to the Download Spreadsheet option with
my own custom lists of stocks. With a bit of
manipulation and the MS Downloader I have the data
ready about half an hour or so after the UK markets
close. Outside the US it is best to thoroughly test
programs like Mldownloader before parting with your
money.
