Stan,
Even though the actual traded Volumes are not
what are normally considered liquid you will find that
generally the main stocks are fine to trade for because
the investment banks and other sophisticated traders/investors
can arbitrage (ie buy one sell the other for a low risk profit)between the Futures and Underlying Stock should the Futures price be way out of line with the Underlying Share price.
You should however check with your broker to find out what spreads the market makers have to to give when quoting a price.Usually the spreads involved preclude day trading Individual share
futures as crossing the spread can sometimes mean 1/2 the days range. So if you are a position trader its should be fine but if you are a Day Trader stick to the Indexes as the Bid Ask Spread is a smaller percentage of the days range.
Warmest Regards
