Yes. This is true
for all prior versions.

The round off string
of X.999999999 or Y.00000001 can be eliminated by using a round off
correction. This is done by adding a 5 to the last digit in the string and
rounding to one digit less. Most hand calculators have it as do most spreadsheet
programs.

Single precision, 16
bit, (2**16) gives about 4 digit precision. To get decent precision we
need 32 bit precision.

About a year or
two ago Guy Tann, a very good trader, tried to use Metastock Pro. He is the
kind of person that checks and double checks. He found that Metastock was giving
him incorrect answers. He quickly determined that the reason was the single
precision factor. When he asked Equis about this they gave a very stupid
excuse. They said that double precision would use up too much memory and they
didn't want to impose this on their users. Now this may have been valid in the
days of the 286 and the 386, but not today with memory and hard drives being so
cheap.
Guy dropped
Metastock and stopped posting to the Listserver.

Hope this clarifies
