Each to their own..we all find what provides value
to each us..
Probably why there are zillions of books on how to
trade and as many indicators, not to mention the so called
'systems'.
Way overdone in my estimation.
Dick.

  Why don't you use
  an MACD o price oscillator?

  Yes David!

It's exactly what I want! This way, I can "secure" the position by a
"secure" (confirmed and delayed) trend. On a 1 mn chart this delay of 3
  periods isn't a problem.

    Walter
The point I was trying to make, obviously not very
clearly, is that there is no value in plotting a current ma
point (either ma with a -3 offset, or ref(ma,3), same thing) at X
periods in the past because you can't make current use of it until X
periods in the future. All it will do is mislead you by back testing with
    it.
In your code below, if the fast ma crossed above the slow
ma now, you would not see it until 3 periods from now.
