Right, but, Dahl's Primary is "Mov(C,50,SIMPLE) -
Ref(Mov(C,50,SIMPLE),-15)", - not
+.

  Curtis Dahl
developed this as a  simple timing device, this was before the days of
cheap computers and the internet. Intersection of the shifted
moving average and the unshifted moving average  give buy and sell
signals. You can do better using other oscillators like the
  MACD.

  Ref(Mov(Close,3,e),<FONT

periods in the past. What is the value of this?

    Thanks Lionel & David,

    Ok I've found!

    A shifted -3 MA is

    Ref(Mov(Close,3,e),<FONT

    Thanks

       ref(mov(close,3,e),-3) should
work.  What do you mean what is not a -3 shift? What do you
      get?
       The Metastock moving average
window allows shifting a MOV up, down, left, right.

      Try  Mov(C,3,E) - Ref(Mov(C,3,E),-3)

        Hi!

Does anyone know the syntax for a shifted moving average?

        For example a mov(close,3,e) shifted -3?
        I've tried:  ref(mov(close,3,e),-3) but it's not a -3 shifted
        moving average.

        Thanks a lot.
