Depending upon your needs, you might very well find MS pretty
frustrating...MetaStock's main advantage (now that TS is basically
given away) is that its language is fairly easy to program. In so
doing, however, it sacrifices ALOT of power. Some things (like
defining swings) can't be done very well, if at all.
Since you already know EasyLanguage, its hard to understand why you'd
want to switch. At any rate, to answer your question, the learning
curve shouldn't be difficult at all.
Another alternative is WaveWi$e. Its main advantage (other than price
$79/year) is the power of its language. Its still not TS, but its
much more powerful than MS & alot easier to program than TS. The
downside to WaveWi$e is that tech support is abysmal (& that's being
charitable). That's particularly a problem since there's no manual
for the program (it has a fairly extensive help system built into the
program, however.) It uses a spreadsheet metaphor so the language is
pretty easy to program, once you figure it out. Overall, its a pretty
good alternative
