Different vendors provide their own industry groupings of stocks.
Depending what you want to do with the grouping here are a two approaches.
One approach is to maintain a lookup list in Excel and use the vlookup
function. After you run an exploration, the look up list is used to
retrieve the industry group and sub-group. If you have look-ups for
different vendors' groupings, you can rerieve multiple industry groups
and sub-groups. This is a matter of a few minutes work once the lookup
list is set up.
Another approach is to maintain multiple instances of the same ticker in
various folders. This works, but has the distinct disadvantage of
having multiple instances of charts you've worked on . It also
requires more storage space.
