Thanks Theo - I made several backups, including one
direct text copy to NotePad ! Once you've worked with computers for as long as I
have (more than 20 years) you stop trusting backups 100% !

Nick

  Nick :

  One little remark :

if you had made a backup -before the
  re-install-
you would not have Phewed :)

Thanks Debra, thanks Robert, I did write to
Metastock Support and they confirmed that the re-install should not
interfere with anything. I tried it today and happily it does not seem to
have caused any problems. (Phew! Months of work were at
    risk....!)

    Thanks for your help,
    Nick

      Nick,
My suggestion is to call MetaStock support and they will walk
you through whatever needs to be done if you are not sure of the
      outcome.

        Subject: Changing real-time data
        vendor / MetaServer RT

Hi folks, I wonder if anyone can help me
        with the following questions:

I want to change my real-time data vendor
from eSignal to the MetaServer RT DDE application. According to the
MetaServer help file, I first have to select another option (not
        eSignal) during the Metastock Install.

Do I really have to run through the
Metastock Install again to achieve this, or is there an easier
        way?

If I have to run through the install again,
is it safe to do so ie will all of my custom-built experts etc. remain
intact or will they be removed? Obviously I have them backed up, but
even so I am hesitant to trust the backup and restore
        process!

        Many thanks, Nick
