Doesn't Excel have
enough statistical functions?

  That statistics
package isn't all that easy to use.  It's sort of funny that it's
intended for Third-World countries --- it's more suited for
Stanford-types.  I downloaded it and played with it a bit, and returned
to it later to play some more.  But I think there are likely many other
stats packages that one would get a lot further with more quickly.  My
primary stats package and spreadsheet program is Minitab --- it does almost
  everything that I want.

Mine request took a couple of days. The manual is over 400 pages long
so don't expect to become familiar with it in 5 minutes. however, thus far
quite impressed with the time series analysis etc.

      David:
I typed in NA as you suggested and the
system accepted my request. Now I'll have to wait ill next week o see if
they will let me have the program.

      Thanks for your
      suggestion.

In my eyes you are - joke! Not sure what you typed in - suggest you
type NA as in not applicable.

          They wouldn't accept my
registration as I am not an institution.
          any suggestions?

                Free Statistics Packages
I used to be a Statistica user, but somehow have lost the
disks and an upgrade is v. expensive.  Anyway, I found this
                link:

                <A
                href="http://www.unesco.org/webworld/idams/";>http://www.unesco.org/webworld/idams/

For those looking for a comprehensive package, this looks
                to be good.
