new mother board because my bios could not be upgraded to accept XP. Iomega
was working after the change. Next I downloaded and installed
"ioware-w32-x86-31.exe" because the site said it was the upgrade for XP. I
had to boot up in safe mode and remove "ioware-w32-x86-31.exe" because I
couldn't boot up normally. I was getting 2 error messages that said it
couldn't find the zip drive and couldn't find the files. Tech support at
Iomega was very good. The first thing they told me was that my problems were
due to "ioware-w32-x86-31.exe" and that Iomega does not have a win XP
version of therisoftware. Apparently if you have existing software for the
zipdrive installed, XP will recognized it. But if you have removed the
software you can't reinstall it because XP then wont reconize it (sounds
weird but its true). Tech support got rid of the error messages and enable
my computer to recognize the zip drive. At present I can only use it as a
large floppy. Re "ioware-w32-x86-31.exe" don't believe everything you read
on the internet even if it should be true. The USB zip drives may work a
bit differently. Your commentor from the PC users group should contact
Iomega tech support by telephone. I am only relating my experience and what
I was told by Iomega.
