Lionel :

Believe it or not but i was just starting to study
the
Backupping of Ms Outlook Express :

i looked at <A
href="http://www.tomsterdam.com";>http://www.tomsterdam.com

(backup and restore)

and started to implement "the simple
backup"

one of the most striking things was the
"difficulty"
of the folder where the *.dbx files are stored
:

C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator.LAPTOP\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{54D172B7-F1B5-4162-904B-232DF7B8FBB9}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express

so maybe you have overlooked something
?

Good Luck

  Neo:
  Thanks, I'll check this out.
I had moved the files to another partition, but
  they have disappeared.
XP is in some ways as bad as Win
  3.11.

After installing a new mother board, I lost
      my Outlook Express files.
About a month ago there some postings with
links to sites that dealt with statistics and probability. Another thread
discussed a number of anti virus programs also with links.

I would appreciate it if someone could post
      these threads.thanks
