There is a very blunt article in today's Houston Chronicle on this problem.
I found this web site that discusses this problem and the concerns of the

Microsoft has posted a patch which they say answers this problem. The FBI's
National Infrastructure Protection Center says that this is not enough and
that the "plug and play" feature needs to be disabled as well.
