Another choice would be to program a system tester. I did so over the last
year or so, and enjoy the flexibility of having virtually no limit in
testing any idea.
I would be willing to share the source code with anyone willing to
contribute to the further development.
So, I herewith invite all of you to send me an e-mail requesting the
complete source code under the following conditions:
1) I expect your explicit commitment to share any improvements and
enhancements to the code with other members of the developers community.
2) I expect you to share everything in source code (not compiled code aka
DLL etc). This does obviously not include the propriety systems you develop.
With emphasis on "systems"; algorithms for data processing or data
manipulation must be open.
3) I expect that you don't build any commercial software out of this
foundation.
4) I expect you to respect copyrights of the respective owners and clearly
mark these.
5) I expect you to accept the lead function of the maintainer of the code
(currently me) - not all changes will make it into to "official code". And I
would expect any changes in a format that would allow easy integration into
the "official code".
6) I expect you to help others using and improving the code. Be open and
supportive.
Some words of caveat:
- There is no real user-interface up to today. Personally, I could easily
accept non-comfort. The program is neither for the common Windows-user nor
for the faint-harted.
- I bet there are many, many errors and mis-calculations in the code. If
you decide to place any order to the market depending on results from this
code, you do so own your very own risk.
You will need Visual Basic as a minimum; Visual-Basic-for-"you name it" is
not sufficient. For data-access, I use MetaLib "www.trading-tools.com";
this, however, can easily (?) be re-programmed for data other than
Metastock.
When I send you the code, I will do so under preserving the right to change
any of the above mentioned restrictions - my definite intention is to make
this a public, joint project.
If you are interested, DON'T simply reply! Send your answer to
"djin(ta)agent-provocateur.de" - where "(ta)" is the "@" sign on your
keyboard.
A final request: I could use some help in how to set up an "open project".
Anybody out there with experience how to organize this?
Regards,
Andreas
