RE: System low on resources

Just a quick thought.

System resources on Windows 9x and ME really don't have much to do with the
amount of memory on the computer. They are a three small pools of memory,
64K each. They are the same size on Windows 9x and ME. So even though you
increase your physical memory the area for system resources does not
increase.

The best way to see what is going on is to run Windows Resource Meter. I
think it is found under accessories/system tools. If not on the system it
needs to be loaded from the Windows installation CD.

Unfortunately the only way to get more system resources in Windows 9x and ME
is to close programs or background processes.

The other option is to move up to Windows XP or 2000. I would recommend
Windows XP Home. I think that Windows XP is best since it is in the natural
progression from Windows 9x. It is a major operating switch so make sure
that all your current programs will run under XP. It is a different
architecture than Windows 9x and so will usually require driver updates
and/or program updates.

Hope this helps and doesn't confuse the issue more.

Jay

Subject: System low on resources

Hi all,

I just upgraded my computer for a Pentium 4, 256 meg RAM. I'm running
Metastock 6.52 on Windows Me.
When I open numerous (let say 15) charts in MS while running some few other
programs, I still get a "System low on resources" message and no other chart
can be opened.

Is there anybody experienced such a problem. I can't believed I still lack
on resources.
Is the problem with Metastock 6.52 or Windows Me ?
Should I upgrade to MS EOD 7.2 or to Windows 2000 to solve the problem ?

Thanks for you help

Robert
